Introducing our New Therapist - George Marcoulis

We asked George to tell us a little bit about himself and how he got into massage therapy. Here’s what he said:

My calling has always been in helping and supporting people. This pushed me into  starting my career as a Nurse. I worked in different settings but finally specialised in the Intensive Care Unit.

While still working as a qualified Nurse I was looking for a way to help people more directly, in a more hands on way. That's when the idea of becoming a massage therapist was created.

After extensive research I found a course for therapeutic massage in order to be able to treat people with injuries but also people that suffer from chronic aches and pains.

I am very passionate about being a massage therapist as the results of every treatment are visible straight away and the impact of it is apparent.

Throughout the time I am practicing I have had several clients, different ages and backgrounds, some young athletes or sportive enthusiasts, others older people suffering for years from chronic pain and restricted range of movement in various areas.

The variety of my clientele keeps my interest and excitement.

I qualified as a Sports Massage therapist and usually my treatments combine deep tissue massage with trigger point therapy, soft tissue release and muscle energy techniques.

I always work in cooperation with the client, and am in constant conversation with them throughout the treatment.

I believe that they know their body better than anyone and they can express how each technique feels which would help the treatment, and I am always open to feedback in order to understand and improve my methods.

I recently qualified as a MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) therapist and I am planning on completing an oncology course soon in order to be able to help people suffering from cancer and its treatments.

There are a plethora of courses I want to do in the future and the diversity of techniques and skills available in the world of massage is what excites, amazes and energizes me!

I founded Happy Knuckles one year ago, its base located in North London near Wood Green.

After meeting Natalie and visiting Clinical Massage London it felt that it was natural to collaborate with each other.

Sharing similar vision and having the same principles in our practices I am very excited to be part of CML and Natalie’s partner!

George is now available for bookings.
